What: A 5K Run/Walk and Health Expo

When: Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 8:15 a.m.

Where: Starting in Times Square, New York City, finishing in East Meadow, Central Park

Why: To raise awareness and significant funds to drive research which will result in preventional education, early diagnostic indicators, treatments and ultimately, a cure for women's cancers. Funds raised will be distributed to scientists who are doing the best, cutting edge research throughout the United States as well as to local beneficiaries.

Who: 40,000+ men, women, and children are expected to participate.

Background: Created through the committed and collective efforts of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, Lily Tartikoff and Ronald O. Perelman, the Revlon Run/Walk has grown to become one of the nation's most important fundraising events. To date, the Run/Walk has raised over $24 million for cancer research, counseling, and outreach programs. Already, thanks in part to these funds, new treatments are being developed and lives are being saved.
